Summary / Abstract (Note) | THE STATUTE of the International Atomic Energy Agency established 50 years ago mentions as one of its objectives: to seek to accelerate and enlarge the contribution of atomic energy to peace in such a way as not to further any military purposes. This fused together "security" and "development" as two aspects of the single ideal, which is "atoms for peace." ... Humanity, however, is yet to achieve security and development: there is still an acute need for developing many parts of the world and creating a more efficient system of international security |
