Summary / Abstract (Note)The politico-military events of the turn of the century mean that today we are witnessing a change in the philosophy on war, the shape of Armed Force, and in effect challenges of attaining new capabilities. The immense changes in societies and modern technologies have caused the spectrum of future possible scenarios and of how to use Armed Forces to continously broaden and to enter into new domains of life which have so far not been obvious. New military equipment is the predominant, yet not the exclusive domain. This reflects the modernity of the military. The introduction of new materiel generates many challenges, which need to be overcome in the transformation process.
