Summary / Abstract (Note) | This paper is an endeavor to examine the existence of cosmopolitanism during the time and space of medieval Indian Ocean trade network through the lens of oriental globalization. The concept of oriental globalization not only puts forth significant challenges to the Eurocentric views of development and cultural formation in the modern world, but it also confronts Eurocentrism as a regime of truth that enmeshed in the power of colonial history construction. |
