Summary / Abstract (Note) | The civil war raging between Syrian president Al-Assad's government forces and free Syrian army and other insurgent groups has produced the most serious potential CBRN crisis since preparations for Operation Deserts Strom in 1991, when Iraq was know to possess chemical and biological weapons on launchable munitions, such as short range SCUD missiles, and before that, in the Iran-Iraq war, when CW were deployed by both sides. |
