Title ProperWar in Mali in the shadow of the Palais de l'Elysee
LanguageENG
AuthorFilippov, V
Publication2013.
Summary / Abstract (Note)FOR A SHORT WHILE, the Europeans followed the military operation of France in Mali, a long-suffering and appallingly poor African country, by Euronews coverage which showed how jubilant dark-skinned Malians greeted French soldiers in the streets of liberated Sahel towns with French flags. Reality, however, was not that simple. The truth behind the developments in Mali and the haste with which none other than France turned up in the sands of the Sahara to defeat the "Islamic fundamentalists" is concealed in Malian history.
