Summary / Abstract (Note) | the 21st century ushered in a new wave of military imports for the Indian armed forces at levels that were inconceivable even in the last decade of the 20th century. The end of the Cold War, disintegration of the Soviet Union, the dramatic economic collapse of the European Union, US misadventure in Iraq and the internal strife throughout the Arab World are some of the notable events that have halted or slowed arms exports by the world's two major producers Russia and US. |
