Summary / Abstract (Note) | The article analyses the political, economic and social conditioning the need to amend the one-child policy. The change of the family planning policy is aimed at improving the gender and age structure of the population. It implements recommendations of demographers and sociologist, complies with the expectations of the population, and contributes to the growth of domestic consumption and improvement of the country’s image in the international arena. |
