Summary / Abstract (Note)World politics has changed ever since the Cold War ended in 1991. The zero-sum mentality is giving way to diversified relations. Russia’s approach to Pakistan signals this aspect. Russia wants to engage Pakistan for its own strategic interests. However, this policy will worry India as long as there are tensions between India and Pakistan. India will have to watch that Russia does not give substantial military equipment to Pakistan which could erode Indian military advantage.
