Other Title Information a project of decolonisation and nationalism
LanguageENG
AuthorNayak, Arun Kumar
Summary / Abstract (Note)Although India is among the top five dam building countries in the world, its dams have not performed as per their objectives and the adverse impact of involuntary displacement has been immense. Moreover according to some independent studies multipurpose river valley development plans are inextricably linked to the political economy of decolonisation and nationalism. According to Arun Kumar Nayak, a study of the execution of the Mahanadi River project clearly shows this connection.
