Summary / Abstract (Note)Gandhi was a philosopher and his are philosophical techniques to reformation. The concepts Ahisma and Satyagraha had used by Gandhi in its pure Indian traditional colour (Nanda, 1985, 33). Ahimsa and Satyagraha, the two words are a condensed form from Sanskrit language reflecting Indian socio-cultural milieu. Ahimsa and Satyagraha apart from their word meanings need to be understood within Indian socio-cultural context.
