Summary / Abstract (Note)Problems and conflicts between Russia and the United States have been growing for years. Russian-American relations have been declining since the Iraqi crisis of 2003, seeing only occasional brief periods of improvement. The events of 2014-2017 have catalyzed the negative processes that started earlier. This article seeks to analyze new aspects of relations between Moscow and Washington, which have emerged after the adoption of the Countering Americas Adversaries Through Sanctions Act in August 2017, and possible steps that may reduce tensions and improve the bilateral relations.
