Summary / Abstract (Note) | This article shows that as part of India’s special nature at the bilateral sphere and its overall ‘Act East’ policy, India and Japan are acutely aware of the need for strategic and security cooperation between the two countries for ensuring order, stability and equilibrium among the region’s great powers. Both the countries recognise that India-Japan cooperation and the process of engagement cannot be sustained on sheer expediency, episodic and transactional basis but has to be firmly rooted in shared values in both security and strategic terms. |
