Summary / Abstract (Note)This paper looks at threats to military chemical security that still exist under the Convention on the Prohibition of the Development, Production, Stockpiling, and Use of Chemical Weapons and on their Destruction The signing and ratification of this Convention proved an effective factor in containing the proliferation of these weapons of mass destruction. The paper shows that, despite the operation of the Chemical Weapons Convention, the world at the moment is facing a real danger of chemical weapons employment, for both military and terrorist purposes.
