Summary / Abstract (Note) | Pakistan is struggling to deal with the coronavirus pandemic due to weak health care facilities, economic depression, lack of coordination between the federal and provincial governments and inadequate infrastructure. Although all the countries hit by the pandemic have been severally impacted economically, socially and in some cases politically, Pakistan faces grave challenges due to the existing economic stress with low growth rate and mounting debt burden. Prime Minister Imran Khanhas tried to assure the nation (more than once!) that the COVID-19 problem is under control. |
