Summary / Abstract (Note) | ON DECEMBER 18, 1940, Hitler signed his directive on preparations for attacking the Soviet Union (Operation Barbarossa). The High Command of the German Armed Forces (OKW) subsequently began planning disinformation measures to conceal Germany's military preparations at the Soviet border.
