Summary / Abstract (Note) | The importance of geographical location is on rise at global politics. Five Central Asian countries namely Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan got independence in the 1990s after the fall of the USSR. Initially the geostrategic importance of Central Asian region was overlooked by major powers around the world. With the discovery of natural resources in Central Asian region, the five Central Asian countries became pawn in the great game amongst great powers. |
