Summary / Abstract (Note) | On the other hand, in the wake of COVID pandemic, India practised Covid vaccine diplomacy with the members of this region, but this is not sufficient. SAARC could not live up to the expectations and desirability of its founding members. During the course of the past summits, although some assertions have been marked yet the implementation of those met with astute failures and disappointments. Besides, problem-avoiding approach would not serve any purpose but problem-solving can do wonders for all its members and for the entire region as well. The need of the time is that SAARC should come out of the ‘state- centric model’ and to change the negative mindsets of the SAARC members along with focussing on credible and sensitive issues of human security threats facing the region rather than sticking to the traditional security concerns. |
