Summary / Abstract (Note) | This article is devoted to the study of general issues of non-governmental organizations in China. Among these is legislation regulating their legal status, including the legal acts adopted since the beginning of the reform and opening-up policy. In people's democracies such as the People's Republic of China, the work of non-governmental organizations cannot contradict the policy of the ruling party. In the PRC, social agencies and organizations are part of the United Front, which is led by the CPC and consists of various political forces striving for a single goal: "the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation." The activities of opposition organizations are prohibited in China, and their registration is impossible. The Chinese authorities believe that the interests of the collective are greater than the interests of the individual, so individual forces that do not obey the "line of the masses" have no right to exist. Western experts believe that the absence of opposition organizations independent of the state in China makes it impossible to call any public organizations in this country non-governmental. |
