Summary/Abstract |
Many experts in the United States and
Latin America believe that Washington
has not paid sufficient attention to the
Americas in recent years. They warn that this indifference
may prove costly at a time when the
region is undergoing political, social, and economic
transformations. They believe the United
States is projecting a detached, unsympathetic
attitude just as democratic legitimacy is weakening
across Latin America and populism and
anti-Americanism are gaining momentum.
