Summary/Abstract |
In 2013, China launched [2] an initiative to establish a new multilateral development institution, the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank [3]. The AIIB, Beijing argued, could help fill a multitrillion-dollar gap in financing for railways, roads, power plants, and other infrastructure in the world’s fastest-growing region. But the United States treated China’s proposal as a challenge to the existing regional and global development institutions that it had helped establish in the decades after World War II [4]. Washington not only refused to join the bank itself but also launched a quiet diplomatic campaign to dissuade its allies from doing so either.

Summary/Abstract |
The contributions of Modi in the field of foreign policy have been his visits to Bhutan and Nepal after becoming the prime minister which was unheard of earlier. That has boosted the Himalayan spheres which were ignored for almost seven decades. His invitation to the heads of these countries for his oath taking ceremony was to continue the trajectory of good friendly relations with neighbours while also removing any apprehensions of these nations against India. He seems to be determined to streamline the sea route of India which became the easy route of terrorist outfits. Moreover he has been trying to connect India with the disconnected part of the world. These factors will pay great dividends in the future if India is sincerely committed to shape a strong strategic culture through its cohesive foreign policy.

Summary/Abstract |
A forecast of the global scenario a decade hence is attempted, and the policies India should follow to gain the most advantage are suggested. The nation state system will continue, but there will be major and continuing change in the capacity and power projection of more important states and hence in their relationship. Power in all aspects will shift from the Atlantic powers to Asia and the Indian Pacific Ocean Region resulting in a multipolar system. To manage this better Asia needs to establish a regional cooperation structure. China has emerged as the single most powerful country in Asia, and the current leadership is seeking to put its own model in place. India can and should ensure a leading role for itself by becoming the most effective power in the South Asian and Indian Ocean region. For this it will have to forge a working partnership with China which will not exclude an element of competition. The boundary problem needs to be resolved. The relations with Pakistan must be managed. Relations with all other neighbours must be improved as speedily as possible. The USA will still remain the single most powerful country and close bilateral relations are crucial even while independence is not surrendered. The growing conflicts in the Middle East and the flux in supply and prices of energy need to be addressed. Enhancing domestic capacity will power India’s external projections. The demographic dividend can only be harvested by a determined pursuit of skills innovation and technology to attain excellence in economic production and social goals. This is only possible in a democracy if it moves towards greater inclusion and provides opportunity to all. Success will ensure India becomes a major global power by 2025.

Summary/Abstract |
In fine, there is no doubt that the leadership style of the PM Modi has raised the credit of India at the international level and his fresh coat of paint on India’s foreign policy has also created its image as a leading power in the 21st century. PM Modi’s unique approach to the Indian foreign policy has played a significant part in emerging ties with the leading countries of the world and the future of India’s foreign policy looks very bright. In the era of globalisation, where geoeconomics has become prime centre of the world countries, therefore, PM Modi has also focussed on the Indian foreign policy and fine-tuned according to the need of hour, and during his half tenure, the fruits of changes in Indian foreign policy have become visible, and one can see that, at present, India and the United States of America have become very close to each other than earlier and both are standing at one platform and therefore the 21st century will be witnessed of their close partnership.

Summary/Abstract |
Academic lectures and scholarly articles do not ordinarily open with an autobiographical reflection. But then, there’s not much that feels normal or ordinary lately. Though it’s not all that customary, I hope you’ll forgive my decision to begin with a brief preface, a personal account of how this Bernath Lecture came to be. Or, to paraphrase Daniel Defoe, an explanatory prologue for this “journal [article] of the plague year.”

Summary/Abstract |
Why do some individuals embrace nationalist rhetoric and feel proud of their citizen ship while others do not? This article introduces an exchange-theoretic perspective, according to which national pride depends on access to political power. Seen from this perspective, members of ethnic groups that are not represented in national-level government should be less proud of their nation than those included in the polity. Furthermore, ethnic violence in the past or power-sharing arrangements in the present should reduce trust in the future stability of political representation and thus pride in the nation. From a dynamic point of view, members of ethnic groups whose level of political representation decreased in the past should also see their nation in a less positive light today. To show this, the author uses existing surveys to assemble a new dataset with answers to a similar question about national pride. It covers 123 countries that comprise 92 percent of the world's population. For roughly half of these countries, the ethnic groups listed in the surveys could also be found in another data set that contains information on the political status of these groups. Multilevel ordered logistic regressions at both the country and the group level confirm these hypotheses while taking into account a wide range of individual-level and country-level variables discussed in the existing literature.

Summary/Abstract |
Far from being purely a product of the twentieth century, the present understanding of 'strategy' has many reflections in antiquity and beyond. The history of the concept is a rich one, with wisdom carried through the ages rejecting the value of military victory simply for its own sake. Chief amongst these timeless lessons is that war must serve a political purpose and ultimately ensure a better, more just peace than existed antebellum.

Summary/Abstract |
TODAY, THE MASS MEDIA all over the world, Russia being no exception, are very much concerned with the relations between religion and the state.
Foreign Affairs, a respectable thick journal, writes about new trends in the United States where disagreements between the Catholics and Protestants are no longer the talk of the day; confrontation between the conservative believers and secular progressivists has become the public's staple topic.
This is a renaissance of sorts: in the United States the current extent of party-based religious mobilization has been unknown since the mid-19th century.
