2012.
Summary/Abstract
TODAY, IT HAS BECOME abundantly clear that the world has changed its development paradigm. While in the 1960s-1970s and even early in the 1990s it looked as if the world was moving somewhere, today it seems that the world elite do not know what is going on. The living standards in Western Europe and North America have stopped rising; the global economic crisis shows no signs of folding up - it is unfolding.

Summary/Abstract
RUSSIAN emigrant communities abroad have always been known to have their own Russian-language media. This has been done since before the 1917 revolution.1 Scholarly descriptions of Russian emigrant media are normally limited to newspapers and journals that have played important roles in the life of emigrant communities.2 However, over the last few decades, the Russian diaspora has been setting up other forms of Russian-language media, forms that media researchers know little about and that include radio stations.

Summary/Abstract
THIS ARTICLE aims to show what place Russia occupies in the global online information space among the leading countries and suggests ways to expand and deepen the study of Russia's image in the international community - research that is highly relevant in the current global situation. We will start with a general look at Russian-language scholarly literature on the subject and then follow principal trends in its study. Then we will point out which parts of this very complex scholarly field remain poorly explored, formulate new methods of research, and present the findings of a pilot project based on these methods. This study was conducted in 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic.
