From what has been stated above, following concluding remarks are made. Initiatives and policy decisions of Russia to dissolve Warsaw Pact, ‘Constructive Cooperation’, Founding Act on Mutual Relations and Reset-Policy played an important role for promoting cooperation between Russia and NATO. But pursuance of policy of Eastward expansion of NATO on misplaced perceptions of threats from Russia, refusal to accept Putin’s proposal of ‘Equal Footing’ with NATO, problems arising out of Russia’s relations with Georgia and Baltic states, impact of ‘Colored Revolutions’, allegation of annexation of Crimea by Moscow, persisting differences on Crimean issue and accusation for east Ukrainian crisis, economic sanctions to punish and weaken Russia have been responsible for ongoing conflicts between Russia and NATO.
