Summary / Abstract (Note)The ongoing war in Iraq is a defining example of a military campaign waged on behalf of major private business interests bent on plundering a country. It was launched on and is still being justified by false pretences and trumped-up charges. All the techniques of covert warfare perfected by the US forces (use of banned weapons, illegal arrests, secret detentions, torture, terrorist 'black ops' and other war crimes) are being applied in Iraq, in utter and open contempt of international law. Niloufer Bhagwat presents the indictment she wrote for the World Tribunal on Iraq and argues that a Nuremberg-style trial for the leaders of the aggressor-states is in order.
