Summary / Abstract (Note)There is no doubt that Japan is forging strongest defence links with India after the U.S. and these relations between the two constitute a major pillar of Strategic partnership. The opportunities are obviously the most in the maritime sphere. With gradual shift of focus from Atlantic to the Pacific and to the Indian Ocean, Japan will have to pay more attention to this part of the world.
