Even more important, what distinguishes Chile from other developing countries is its initiation since 1990 under the aegis of the Concertación de Partidos por la Democracia governments a new set of policy measures based on innovative strategies to deal with critical societal issues such as abject poverty, income inequality and social exclusion. |
