Summary / Abstract (Note) | The character and nature of warfare keeps changing from time to time. Nework-centric warfare (NCW) has emerged as a new conceptual framework with which to examine military missions and military organisations. The theory of network centricity has been central to military thinking and development of military doctrine for some time. Availability of information about own troops and gathering of intelligence about the enemy troops are vital for the successful accomplishment of military operations. The more intelligence we have about the oppenent, the more likely we can penetrate his observe, Orient, Decide and Act (OODA) loop and seize the initiative. The convergence of computers and communications has facilitated this process further. |
