AuthorPerez, Marcela Alvarez ;  Berger, Mark T
Publication2009.
Summary / Abstract (Note)This article examines contemporary concerns about citizenship, security, and development against the backdrop of an emergent "MexAmerica." It seeks to de-routinize the idea of the nation-state and de-naturalize the history of North America in order to move beyond the influential technocratic and quantitative approach to border security and development, and thus to define the current crisis manifested in practices of border security, citizenship, and economic integration.
