Summary / Abstract (Note)The article discusses the Soviet-Vietnamese and Russian-Vietnamese relations from the time of the establishment of diplomatic ties between our countries in 1950 up to the present against the background of historical developments in the Asia-Pacific Region and Southeast Asia. It shows the significance of Soviet assistance to the Vietnamese people at all stages of their two wars of Resistance, and also in peaceful construction. The present state of the relations between the Russian Federation and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam is characterized by all-round mutually advantageous cooperation which successfully develops on the principles of strategic partnership with due account of the national interests of the two countries.
