Title ProperNepal's elusive peace
LanguageENG
AuthorHousden, Oliver
Publication2010.
Summary / Abstract (Note)While Nepal has made progress towards a lasting peace since the conclusion of its civil war in 2006, significant threats to stability remain. In particular, the integration of Maoist rebels into a new, inclusive national army remains perilous. The state is still fundamentally patrimonial - and unless this and other political and economic grievances are resolved, Nepal risks sliding back into violence.
