Summary / Abstract (Note) | SIX DECADES have passed since the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics was one of the first countries in the world to recognize the young state the Democratic Republic of Vietnam and officially establish diplomatic relations with it. This event occurred on 30 January, 1950. Since then the strong friendship and productive cooperation between our countries has been put to many tests. Historical upheavals did not leave our relations unscathed, but we withstood the challenges of the times with dignity. By preserving and enhancing the achievements, today we have been able to raise our relations, the development of which has been closely related to the historical choice of the peoples of Russia and Vietnam, to a level of strategic partnership and all-encompassing cooperation. |
