Summary / Abstract (Note) | Much attention has been paid to the development of political processes in the country prior and after the sudden death of Kim Jong-il in December 2011, including the transfer of power to the new leader Kim Jong-un, and also to the situation within the ruling elite. This article also examines the DPRK's relations with Russia, China, the United States, the Republic of Korea, and certain other countries, as well as the influence of the events in Libya on the prospects of resolving the nuclear problem of the Korean Peninsula. |
