Title ProperDiplomacy of a rising China in South Asia
LanguageENG
AuthorGarver, John W
Publication2012.
Summary / Abstract (Note)The author argues that U.S. interest in Asia traditionally has been maintaining the balance of power to prevent the rise of any regional hegemony. Yet against this anti-hegemony objective is balanced an attempt to accommodate China. If China keeps this commitment, the United States will welcome the emergence of a China that is peaceful and prosperous and that cooperates with America to address common challenges and mutual interests.
