Summary / Abstract (Note) | Although the normative ideal of multiculturalism is the accommodation of communal differences, Singaporean multiculturalism is instead integral to a corporatist form of governance. This article argues that an emerging Singaporean-ness antithetical to the necessary inter-communal divisions required for corporatism poses a strong challenge to the manner in which the city-state is governed. |
