Summary / Abstract (Note)Ever since the Battle of Kursk, a myth has been propagated which greatly exaggerated the amount of armor involved and asserted that the tank battle at Prokhorovka was unprecedented in this respect. The author explains how this myth came about and tracks its evolution in Soviet/Russian historiography.
