Summary / Abstract (Note)Adding new capabilities to today's naval inventories is a never ending story. Huge stockpiles of near-obsolescent missile systems for anti-shipping purposes, capability gaps in the field of precision strike, modularity, commonality, and interoperability as well as changing requirement will force naval fleets around the globe to seek more advanced ASM. These must be capable of launching anti ship strikes land attacks, and engaging time sensitive targets such as relocatable missile launchers in an ever more complex tactical environment and with the minimum risk of collateral damage. In doing so, anti-ship missiles (ASM) are about to get a lot more lethal.
