Most combat aircraft carry flares and IR jammers to defeat this threat, but Directed IR Countermeasures (DIRCM) systems are more commonly being. Used in many cases, they are replacing these older systems. As a result over the last decade, the number of DIRCM systems on the market has exploded. |
