Summary / Abstract (Note)In this article, the author discusses the role of grid computing on the battlefield. According to him, battlefield grid computing applications help military forces in transforming the capabilities of tactical networks by capacitating them to make use of logistic resources across the entire network. The grid model projects a large scale computing environment accessible at all system levels including networked laptops and the communications project Global Information Grid.
