Summary / Abstract (Note)Much has been said about the 21st century being the Asian century. In the post-Cold War era, the focus of global politics has been shifting from Europe to Asia which is majority attributed to the phenomenal growth of several Asian countries. One of the most prominent amongst those features is the unprecedented rise of china. China is the second largest economy in the world with a gross domestic product (GDP) of approximately US$ 9 trillion. Its GDP growth rate stood at 7.7 percent in 2013.
