| Summary / Abstract (Note) | It was an unusual Diwali gift for the people of Kashmir this year. The Prime Minister spent time with the flood affected people and announced a special package of Rs 745 crore to help rebuild the ravaged state. Out of this, Rs 175 crore is meant for renovation of six major hospitals while Rs 570 crore is for rebuilding homes damaged in the floods. The money, he said, would be directly credited to the bank accounts of the victims, thus removing any bureaucratic hurdle. |
