Summary / Abstract (Note)The Central Asian neighbourhood of Afghanistan consists of large energy resources with sizeable volumes of hydrocarbon reserves present in Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan bordering the eastern and southern part of the Caspian Sea. The hydel and geo-thermal energy sources present in Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan have gained attention in the light of electricity transmission possibility through Wakshan corridor in Badakhshan region of Afghanistan.
