Title Proper | Immigrants, Foreigners and the Security Paradox in Assam |
Language | ENG |
Author | Das, Samir Kumar |
Summary / Abstract (Note) | While India’s Northeast in general and Assam in particular have been a standing witness to the rather sustained history of what Amalendu Guha calls ‘anti-foreigner’s upsurge’ since the beginning of the twentieth century, there is reason to think that the ‘foreigners’ are perceived as a threat to the country’s security only recently with the turn of the new millennium. |
