Title ProperTraditional patron or modern supporter of culture and the arts? the corporate philanthropy practices of an Israeli family business
LanguageENG
AuthorGalia, Riki
Summary / Abstract (Note)This article examines a 1980s initiative of a family-owned Israeli bank in support of culture and the arts as part of its community outreach efforts. It shows that despite its strategic aims and reliance on the principles of modern marketing and public relations, the initiative combined these newer ideas of corporate philanthropy with the bank owners’ longstanding family tradition of philanthropy, charitable giving, and public engagement.
