| Summary / Abstract (Note) | In essence, the broad contours of 21st century Indian foreign policy have been propelled by introduction of substantial element of realism and pragmatism in its external relations. India is striving hard to continue enjoying strategic autonomy in shaping of its national interest at regional as well as global level. Development as an ideology has been retained. India today is fourth largest economy with approx. $3 Trillion GDP at the world level. As on date, it is the second fastest growing economy at the world level. The importance India’s foreign policy has received in last four hand a half years under Prime Minister Modi is visible from the very fact that Prime Minister himself has visited more than 54 countries in last 4.5 years after having formed the government in 2014. |
