Summary / Abstract (Note) | National power that determines and sustains national interest is no more exclusively ‘hard’ these days. The dimension of ‘soft’ has been regarded complementary and supplementary to a nation’s power for augmenting its strength and image in the international society. It has been realized that soft power without hard power is meaningless; and hard power without soft power is not effective and enduring. India’s foreign policy strategists have realized this phenomenal change. India, therefore, has been promoting that aspect of its power which is, in other words, called as the ability to attract others towards her and the ability to urge others to perceive a favorable image of India. |
