Title ProperProspect of Vietnam as manufacturing hub in global supply chain
LanguageENG
AuthorGhosh, Pitam
Summary / Abstract (Note)The Vietnamese economy has been touted as a major beneficiary of the U.S-China trade war as companies are reportedly relocating factories to Vietnam to rebuild their supply chains. Whether the Southeast Asian country can replace China to become the next “world factory” has become a significant topic of discussion. Vietnam’s GDP grew 6.79 percent in the first quarter of previous year thanks in large part to the growth in its processing and manufacturing sector.
