Title Proper | Is China's territorial claim on Arunachal Pradesh justifiable? |
Language | ENG |
Author | Sarmah, Minakshi |
Summary / Abstract (Note) | The North-eastern Indian State of Arunachal Pradesh bordering Tibet has been claimed by China as part of its territory since India’s declaration of independence. However Beijing’s claim over this mountainous and thickly forested tribal region is legally and historically weak but the extensive and largely untouched natural resources of the area which Minakshi Sarmah surveys, make it a critical asset for India and the PRC aspires to take it over. |
