LanguageENG
AuthorKulshrestha, Umesh Chandra
Summary / Abstract (Note)In order to abide by Net Zero by 2070, India needs to avoid investment in new installation of coal-based plants. Most of the equipments of these plants are imported from the countries which are advocating coal phase out or need to cut their coal based emissions. Need 100% replacement of petroleum based automobiles. Country needs to develop capacity for hydrogen fuelcell based automobiles rather than going to batteries as the disposal of battery is a problem. Also, the raw material needed for batteries is not sufficiently available in India. Also, there are other issues such as supply of electricity for charging batteries and network of battery recharging stations across India which favor fuel cell over batteries.
