Title ProperExploring India’s Climate Action and COP28
LanguageENG
AuthorPanda, Snehalata
Summary / Abstract (Note)“India is committed to the process and principles of UNFCC” . It has reduced emissions from agriculture by changing crop pattern. India’s action plan against climate change announced at COP 26 was updated which differentiates responsibilities along with corresponding competencies by which sustainable development goals can be achieved and emission of carbon can be reduced. Thermal power is indispensable for its reliability compared to solar and wind sources in view of growing demand for power in India. CCUS to capture emissions from CO2 spewing industries is being developed by India. Application of the technology requires huge investment with filter down effect on the price of the product. Storage infrastructure for the captured CO2, investment, tax incentives etc. are important for its success.
