Summary/Abstract |
The current situation in the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war is particularly grave as Russia continues to threaten the western powers to exercise its nuclear option if they continue providing support to Kyiv. And that makes India’s position very problematic as to how to respond to seek cessation of hostilities between the two belligerents and at the same time continue balancing its equally meaningful good relations with Russia, on the one hand and the US, on the other as both the erstwhile super powers have now become the prominent bete-noires or big opponents in the Moscow-Kyiv continuing war. Thus in the ever degenerating grim scenario where no end to the continuing war looks in sight, the world today stands on a nuclear volcano which may blast any day with the slightest spark set on fire by any nuclear power.
