| Summary/Abstract |
Japan announced its new space security blueprint in June 2023. The new blueprint lays down a ten-year roadmap for the country to enhance the utilization of space for its military. While the announcement has been widely perceived as a ‘first’, it is in fact a crystallization of Japan’s space security strategies over the last few decades. This article interprets the blueprint in light of Japan’s counterstrike doctrine. It traces Japan’s rise as a military space power since the 1970s and analyses its evolving approach to space security. Continuities and changes in the 2023 blueprint are assessed against Japan’s historic policies.

| Summary/Abstract |
This article examines the interplay of development, militarization and culture of impunity in Balochistan. It contends that the State’s pursuit of large-scale infrastructure projects is intensifying the conflict. Balochistan has increasingly been positioned as the potential fulcrum of Pakistan’s economic revival due to its vast, untapped resources and significant Chinese investments. While this vision seems promising, it has heightened Baloch anxieties and resistance. Large development initiatives bring about socio-economic disruptions, fuelling existing anti-State sentiment. The article argues that the imperative to protect expanding economic assets has enabled the region’s further militarization, engendering an environment wherein the security-intelligence apparatus employs force inordinately and arbitrarily with impunity.

Disinformation, a longstanding weapon in warfare, skilfully employs technological tools to deceive adversaries and secure strategic advantages. In today’s digital age, social media wields unprecedented power, overshadowing traditional media in access and technology, consequently fuelling the alarming surge in disinformation. The personalization of media content perpetuates echo chambers, stifling exposure to diverse perspectives. This insidious synergy between feedback loops and disinformation perpetuates a self-sustaining cycle, distancing us from the truth and cementing ideological divides. Social media users find themselves ensnared in this disinformation warfare, with evolving technology continually heightening the challenges we face.

| Summary/Abstract |
This article presents the various challenges in the current system of AI governance and the correlation between data, algorithm, technology, governance, and geopolitics surrounding its successful implementation. The focal point of the article is the Adaptive-Hybrid AI Governance framework based on technical, ethical, and societal regulatory mechanisms that models trustworthy AI and the risks associated with it. The article highlights the need for trustworthy AI and how major countries are shaping their AI regulatory mechanisms. It presents a case study on AI governance in defence that elucidates ethical AI governance through various use cases.
